Tea in Charleston
About a month ago, I went on this private tour of homes and gardens in Charleston, South Carolina. That day, I fell in love with Charleston.
A year ago, I had met this retired lady, named Norma at a Gullah Festival. She was just visiting the area and we started talking about how we enjoyed high teas. She invited me to The Gryphon for High Tea in Savannah, GA. We went as strangers, but became friends. Well, last month, Norma returned to this area and invited me, along with my neighbor/friend to go on a private tour of historic homes/gardens, and tea/lunch in the tour guides private home. It was an amazing day!
We met at the tour guide's home, we met a group of ladies, so there were 8 of us total. We stopped at this Bed and Breakfast, historic home of Charleston and had a southern breakfast upstairs. I ate the best grits, I've ever had! Afterwards, we got to walk on the balcony, which overlooked the water. Then, we went on to about 4 homes, saw some amazing english style gardens. Saw, lots of interesting antiques in the old homes. Laura, the tour guide was like a history book, she knew so many details and told personal accounts, she was amazing! She really brought the past alive in her story telling.
We finished up the tour, with a lunch at Laura's home. She made a quiche with herbs from her garden. She makes the best marmalade out of her calamondin oranges that she grows.
It was such an enjoyable day! Something, I will never forget. The day, I fell in love with Charleston!

My New Puggy Luna
Well, first off I'm so sorry I have not been blogging, I have been busy lately. I just had my birthday and my husband got me a pug dog, yay!!!! I had been searching and wanting a dog for months. I finally got one!!
We had had a wonderful, siberian husky, named, Atrael, but she passed away a few years ago, and we were finally ready for a dog again. It is so different going from a husky, large dog to a small pug. We got her from a family, who didn't have time for her. They were a lovely family, and Luna is the sweetest little girl!
Oh, and we loved her name! She's a year and a half and I'm working on her training and socialization skills.
She's coming along. At first, when we brought her home, she was like a tornado! Now, I'm walking her and getting her energy out, so she is a calm sweet girl. The cats aren't too happy, that this little monster has arrived, but they'll adjust in time. I'll keep y'all updated on her progress. Right now, we are just so happy with our new little puggy!

Flowers in my Garden
I am so excited about all the flowers that are blooming in my yard. This is all new to me, since we moved into our new house. I'm so thankful to our previous owners for planting such beauties out there and everyday I find a new flower blooming. And by the way, I am loving the South!! The weather is just gorgeous right now, actually we have had months now of beautiful weather. I am enjoying it now, because soon summer will kick in and then it's miserable with the heat and humidity, feels like a sauna come June-August. Oh well, have to go to the pool or the beach and cool down. Here are some pictures of my flowers in my yard. Enjoy!

Savannah in the Spring
Sorry, I haven't blogged in awhile, I took a trip with my husband to Italy and Spain, now I'm back and ready to share my adventures.
I have been enjoying downtown Savannah lately. I think Savannah is such a romantic, beautiful, old city, that just takes you back in time, every time you visit. I am never bored with Savannah. I seem to discover something new each time I'm there. It's lovely during all the seasons, but I think it's prettiest in the spring. I wanted to share with y'all some photos that I took this past weekend. They're with my iphone, so not the greatest, but you can imagine all the beauty that is there.
If you have never visited Savannah or Charleston, I highly recommend you do so. They are one of a kind here in the States. You will feel like you've been transported in time and you will experience the southern charm, both of these 2 cities are magical.
Enjoy!
My friend's courtyard in downtown Savannah, it's in an old carriage house.
